Frequently Asked Questions
What is Grub Snapper?
Grub Snapper is a community for food bloggers and foodies to share and discover extremely delicious recipes.
How does Grub Snapper work?
Grub Snapper works with the help of amazing foodies like you! Grub Snapper is a visual feast where Members are both the chef and the critic. Members share their recipes with the community by posting a Snap, and can vote and comment on their favorite Snaps posted by other members. The more "Faves" (votes), comments, and views a Snap has, the higher it ranks on the page. The less popular your Snap is, the further it falls into culinary oblivion, and the sooner you'll be packing up your knives and going home.
How do I become a member of Grub Snapper?
Grub Snapper is currently an invite-only community. If you would like to be put on our waiting list for membership, please request an invite by visiting: http://grubsnapper.com/request-invite. Existing members also receive a total of 5 invitations that they can send to their friends.
What is a Snap?
All the recipes on Grub Snapper are referred to as Snaps. Each Snap consists of a mouth-watering photograph, along with a description of the recipe, and cooking techniques required to make the dish.
How can I submit a Snap?
After you become a member of Grub Snapper you can begin submitting your own Snaps. Your Snap will be published once it is reviewed and approved by our Team. All Snaps will be approved as long as they do not violate any of the submission rules set forth below. You will receive an email once your submission is approved and can also check your submission history the approval status of your Snaps at http://grubsnapper.com/submissions (you must be logged in to access this link).
Are there rules for submitting a Snap?
Our Team will approve all Snaps as long as they do not break any of the following rules:
- The photograph must belong to you (If you post an image from someone else you MUST have their permission to use their image)
- You must use the image crop tool (Choose a flattering crop selection to ensure your recipe looks super tasty)
- No people (If you wish you could vote on images of people and stuff, visit our fashion community instead: http://trendsnapper.com)
- No text in your images (text is not edible)
If your Snap violates any of these rules, your submission will be rejected. You may edit your Snap and re-submit it for reconsideration to be approved if it is initially rejected.
How do I use the image crop tool?
After you upload your profile picture or photo for a Snap, you will be given the option to "crop this image." Once you click the "crop this image" button, a pop up screen will appear, where you can then make a crop selection. Once you are satisfied with the crop selection, click "save selection" and then click "done cropping." Note that the crop tool only affects the thumbnail of the Snap's photo. When you click on a Snap to view it's details, you will see the original image submitted without any cropping.
What is the heart icon?
The heart icon, also known as the "Fave" button, is a button that members use to vote on Snaps. If you see a Snap that makes you want to jump out of your seat and run to the kitchen to cook the recipe, then you probably want to click the Fave button. You must sign up or login to use the Fave button. Once logged in, you can click the Fave button on any Snap that you want to vote on.
